John Lee Reed, an award-winning Commercial Art Director / Creative Director and now fine artist, charted an extraordinary course to his true calling. Born and raised on the sun-kissed shores of Virginia and North Carolina, John’s roots are firmly grounded in the rhythm of the ocean, and his artwork beautifully mirrors his boundless passion for the sea.

But here’s where the tale takes a twist: JLR’s path to artistic revelation was far from conventional. Like the unpredictability of the waves, his life meandered through various phases – from avid waterman and athlete to beach lifeguard – from advertising salesman all the way to the famous corner offices of Madison Avenue in New York City. Throughout his early career everyone discouraged him from following his dreams of becoming an actual artist. He suffered through towering waves of adversity, including a near deadly battle with cancer, and danced with the “damsel of misdirection” more than just a few times.

Through it all however, JLR never lost sight of his personal objective and now he wants to share what he has learned with the world.

“The book “Find Your Flow”was originally written as a love letter to my children. As a father I wanted to share my insights and direction with them in hopes that they might learn from my mistakes. The manuscript just kept growing and growing until eventually, The Universe revealed that I should share these lessons with the world.”
